I hope this email finds everyone doing well and staying safe. My focus this month is to provide updates from the Clerk's Office including the Clerk's first annual report and introducing the office's spring semester interns.
I have also included the latest photos from the Augusta County Courthouse virtual photograph tour.
Augusta County Circuit Court Clerk Issues First Annual Report
Earlier this month, I issued the first annual Circuit Court Clerk’s Report for activities accomplished by the Augusta County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office in 2020. In addition, to sharing this report with the public, the report has been provided to members of the Augusta County Board of Supervisors, Augusta County representatives in the Virginia General Assembly, and Circuit Court Judges conducting Court in Augusta County.
The report highlights the activities and accomplishments for the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office, including the Augusta County Court House: Historic Records Short & Long Range Plan; the Clerk’s Internship Program; the formation of the Augusta County Circuit Court Clerk’s Advisory Committee, and details the number of improvements in the technology utilized by the Clerk’s Staff to provide better and more effective service to the citizens of Augusta County.
Augusta County Clerk's Office Announces Spring Semester Interns
Culley Hess and Avery Morrison have been named the Spring Semester Clerk’s Interns. These are the second set of students to be selected for the Clerk’s Office Internship Program.
Our Office is pleased to have both Culley and Avery join the Clerk’s Office as the second set of interns selected for the Clerk’s Office Internship Program. We look forward to having both students serving in the office for the Spring Semester.
Mr. Hess is a Senior at James Madison University majoring in Public Policy and Administration with a concentration in Public Management, and minor in Political Science. He lives in Harrisonburg. Ms. Morrison is a Junior at Stuart Hall School. She lives in Staunton. Both students are possibly interested in pursuing a career in law.
The Augusta County Circuit Court Clerk’s Office provides internship and mentorship opportunities to high school and college students. An internship is provided to those students who are interested in Virginia government, the Virginia Judicial System, or the law. The Clerk’s Office interns assist the Clerk’s Staff with numerous assignments and tasks.
