WEYERS CAVE – Del. R. Steven Landes, R-Weyers Cave, and Vice Chairman of the House Appropriations Committee, will be participating in the third day of the four-day Capital Outlay Tour for the Committee’s Members to see and learn more about state facilities across Virginia. He will be traveling to Lexington, Staunton, and Charlottesville on Wednesday, May 20.
“Let me commend Appropriations Chairman Chris Jones and our Appropriations Committee Staff for providing this opportunity to learn more about a host of state agencies and institutions of higher learning with this Capital Outlay Tour,” Landes said. “I will be particularly interested in learning more about the facilities and services provided to the citizens in the Shenandoah Valley and Piedmont regions, which are part of Wednesday’s schedule.”
The schedule for Wednesday includes the following:
- 8:30 – 9:45 a.m. Tour Virginia Military Institute, Lexington, VA.
- 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Tour Western State Hospital, Staunton, VA.
- 12:00 – 1:30 p.m. Frontier Culture Museum, and presentation by James Madison University, Staunton, VA.
- 3:30 – 6:00 p.m. Tour University of Virginia, Charlottesville, VA.
Landes represents the 25th House District, which includes portions of Albemarle, Augusta and Rockingham Counties. He was first elected in 1995 and is currently serving his tenth term in the House.
