VERONA, VA – Del. R. Steven Landes, R-Weyers Cave, the Republican candidate for Augusta County Clerk of Circuit Court, today announced new endorsements of 10 current and former Clerks of Circuit Court from across Virginia, with over 200 years of experience.
“It is an honor to have the endorsement of those who know the work and experience needed to serve effectively as the Clerk of Circuit Court for Augusta County – these current and former Clerks of Circuit Court from across the Commonwealth of Virginia,” Landes said. “I am so proud to have been selected the Legislator of the Year by the Virginia Court Clerks’ Association of Virginia in 2014, and proud to have the support of these Clerks of Court who serve the citizens of Virginia, and many of whom have served as Past President’s of the Clerks’ Association.”
“The Clerk’s Office deals with hundreds of local, state and federal agencies, many daily. Steve’s vast experience in government and his many contacts on all levels of government will serve him well as Clerk. “I have served as Clerk of Circuit Court in Loudoun County for 20 years. My experience allows me to recognize individuals who have potential to be good Clerks of Circuit court in Virginia. Steve Landes is one of those individuals. Now why would a clerk from northern Virginia have an interest in someone serving as clerk in the Shenandoah Valley? My wife, oldest son and I are alumni of James Madison University. My youngest son is a student at James Madison University. We spend a lot of time in the Shenandoah Valley and we love the Shenandoah Valley. That is why I want the Shenandoah Valley specifically Augusta County to have an excellent leader serving as Clerk of Circuit Court there. I have worked with Steve on legislative initiatives that help the clerks provide better service in Virginia and I’m proud to endorse Steve Landes as the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Augusta County,” said Gary M.
